A smoothie is a great way to start your morning and it’s a great way to get fruits and greens required on a daily basis. Most people struggle with getting fruits and vegetables into there daily meals and the smoothie is a great source and easy to do so you can get the nutrition you need and a fun, delicious option. Eleven years ago when I was diagnosed with cancer, green smoothies became a must and I still have at least 32 oz a day. My first smoothie consisted of 3 bananas (ripe), two handfuls of kale, an apple, 1/2 C of blueberries, 1/2 avocado, 2-3 Cups water and a handful of ice. Today, I have developed several different smoothies all of which consist of leafy greens (kale, spinach, chard, beet greens etc), fruit and an avocado. Somewhere I read by adding a healthy fat, whether to a salad or smoothie, it increases the absorption rate, which is crucial. Green smoothies are a very important part of my lifestyle, not only are they nutritious but delicious and easy to make. Below is a short video I thought I’d share, Enjoy!!!!
